| Looks like lil' Bobby got into the spray paint-even the windshield. Needs some TLC, but looks salvageable. |

thanks.....started out with 400 grit wet sandpaper, keep it real wet..go slow..then move to 800.. then 1000..just keep it wet and work slow..then micro fine polishing compound from 3m..then a good coat of wax... |

The pink is Valspar gloss interior/exterior from Lowe's. Says it's good for many diff. applications. We shall find out. The white is from Fusion for plastics. It's the color she wanted so even if it doesn't hold up well, she is happy for now..Still alot of work to do yet though.thank you taz |

Looks great! That's a pretty big jump in progress from all painted white to a shiny new finish. How long did it take you to get all that done?
You mentioned going from 400 to 800 to 1000 grit sandpaper wet. Then 3M polishing compound, then wax.
Is that wax something you can paint over? |

Thanks. Took one day for finished paint. Many days to get ready for that point though. The sanding was for the lenses to bring them back from what they started as. So the answer would be no, you can't paint over wax. |

Thanks wrencher. I didn't realize that was just for the lens. For the rest of th car did you just use 400 grit wet or did you use some of the other steps as well? I've got some rough texture on parts of mine and would love to get a smooth finish like I see in your pictures where it's painted pink. |

[/quote] i started with 220 grit then 400..the 220 was just to get the white off,,,400 to even things out...then fuision as a base then filler primer from duplicolor...sand again with 400...just be careful not to sand thro the primer..if you do just respray that spot and sand again...wipe it all down with a tach colth...then paint finish color..just watch when you paint for temp and humidty..best advice read the can of paint you use... |

the windshield is lexan...it was not hard..i used the old shield as a guide...then cut it out with a cut wheel...then drill the mounting holes...there is little posts inside the frame..slide it onto them..then the white part smashes it into the frame... |

INCREDIBLE!!! Love the detail that you put into that and the 'little' things like bumpers and hubcaps. Awesome turn around considering the condition you started with

no clear just a lot of prep work...and a few heavy wet coats near the end of painting..there is 6 coats of paint total..4 lite coats to get the color down...2 heavy wet coats to get the gloss.(plus making sure of temp and humity during painting)also had to watch for runs.. |
