Well, it seemed like the next step for my boy after he now knocks his knees on the PP Gator he has.

He is 6 Y.O. and his Sister is 4, they both like to ride there hearts out and both regularly drive the Gator.

Looking forward we thought the RZR would be a likely step up and bridge the gap to something better like ATV's or a small SXS.

We went to our local Toys R Us to see one but they hadn't one on display. After talking an assitant into it, we managed to get into the store room and get one out of its box. We wanted to try it for size beore commiting $600+tax into the RZR.

I was half cocked anyway and was willing to purchase without trying it, (I'm a big kid also).

I am so glad we tried it for size first! With the seats all the way back and with the best squashing we could do, I am confident in saying that there is NO MORE leg room between seat and dash or floorboard and bottom of steering wheel than there is in the Gator.

I would recommend that anyone thinking of this purchase SHOULD try it for size first. I was dismayed.
My kids are tall for there age - but not equal to a 9 or 10 year old.

My only chance now is the Polaris 800 ATV.

If I had purchased on description alone I would have been duped. the only difference is up to date stying and next generation controls/voltage. COME ON, Peg Perego - I know you can do better.

To sum it up -

Pluses for style and technology.

GO TRY IT FOR SIZE - and dont tell the kids its GOING to be the next ride - some will be heart broken.

Watching the video slowly It kind of makes my point. Those kids are struggling to keep legs inside comfortably. I think they even cut it so the girl could get in? It definately looks like the Sportsman for us.

It still looks way cool, I will have to wait for one to come up secondhand and do some chopping on it. But by then my kids may be over the battery phase anyway.

I too am upgrading to the RZR because my tall 4.5 yr. old doesn't comfortably fit in the Gator anymore. Took him to TRU over the weekend and while getting into the RZR is a bit tight, there is quite a bit of room once he's in. So, while the RZR may not provide the legroom of a quad, it does have more legroom than the Gator.

I have..... they are very close to the same. Maybe an inch or so difference. You can't beat the RZR. It is the best vehicle we have owned so far!

I am very curious to know how the RZR is holding up. I am considering buying one new - and paying full price for it ($699 CDN) - but have seen some pretty mixed reviews. The bad reviews complain of bad pedals and motors dying. Any problems so far?

I live in a fairly remote area, and my wife and I decided to spend some $ on getting a nice ride on that will last a few years (we hope) and we love the look of the RZR.

We have almost had our RZR for a year.. it is holding up great. Don't forget, Peg Perego products come with an optional 2 year warranty and they have excellent customer service.

UPDATE: We had another motor burn up this week. That is the second one in two weeks. Mind you it was one motor in one and one in another but I have a feeling the other side on each one will go at anytime.

Also, those darn pins in the rear shocks are awful so I replaced them with a couple plastic nut and bolt sets from one of my boys tool playsets, problem solved.

Since we have owned these wonderful toys for 2 years our warranty will expire pretty soon. Does anyone know if Peg will extend the extended warranty? Guess I better order some more motors to stay ahead of the game.

We've had ours for only 3 months, and as far as quality, it's total junk. Every plastic piece that can break/snap, fall off, pretty much has. The front bumper snapped off, the entire rollbar, every anchor point has snapped off, so we had to remove the whole thing , and the vehicle just doesn't look as nice without it honestly. We replaced a few items thru Peg, and it still continues to stop constantly when even just one kid is on it. It's pass it's return date for Toys R Us, but Monday I am calling to see if Peg Perego will give us a refund, or send more replacement parts, as it's been a disappointment.
